WHO'S OUR TARGET AUDIENCE?

Doing so, I've read the information and grabbed the important bits: Whilst rating a film in a specific age group, you'll need to...
-Ensure that the media content protects the public (especially children) as it could harm them- this leads to health and safety risks.
-Recognise and respect adult freedom of choice within the law.
-Empower the public- (especially parents) to make informed viewing choices.
-Respond to changing social attitudes towards media- so make it easier for the public by informing them about what to expect in the film.
IMPORTANT: Before a film is classified, examiners look at issues such as discrimination, drug use, horror, language, sex, violence, imitable behaviour, theme and tone/impact of work-how would it make the audience feel?
During our research, we were asked to look at the BBFC website and read their strict guidelines about how they rate films. Rating a film is crutial in film making as the audience will need to be aware of what sort of content will be included in the film.

Taking all of this into account we've decided for our opening sequence to be....
The age classifications of rating a film. 'U' is for children and '18' for young adults. These age classifications have been valid since 1984.
Our target audience for our sequence is 15+ because of the codes and conventions we include. The following opening sequence will include things such as violence and that will be most suited for people of this type of age range as they'll find it more fascinating to watch and they are most likely not to be affected by it.
The enigma that's portrayed in the 2 minutes will leave the audience thinking a certain type of way and they'll have to be the correct age in order to understand/appreciate the aspects of it. In this case, we see the biologist being tortured but as we go along into the clip, we begin to question why. The rest of the clip will continue to build up that enigma enabling the audience with that specific age range to get due to their experiences and what they already know in life.
