1st December 2014

Today, we began to film our second scene- the lab scene from 12-1 as the science technician had said. Unfortunately, our main actor wasn't in at that time so we've spent around 10 minutes trying to find an actor. We've eventually asked another boy to volunteer and play the biologist just for that moment. We've explained to him what he had to do so once we've had access to the lab we took some more time to set up the camera/props then began filming straight away.

We filmed him collecting the liquid by a syringe and holding it up to emphasise that he's inventing/finalising the drug. Overall it was rushed as we only had less than an hour to gather everything up- we also didn't use the shoulder tripod so our footage was very shaky and unstable. We've managed to gather a few shots however as we went back to edit it was obvious that it was filmed in a classroom due to the fire exit signs/other displays included in the background. Therefore I've edited parts of what we've filmed.

Benefits from this?

This scene was clearly a trial run as we're going to have to film this again but properly this time - this gave us practice in time management as well as learning that using the tripod is crutial if we're to steady the shots.

2nd December

Today, we began filming the second scene and this time we've filmed it properly. All of us were there and we've managed to get hold of our actor. As we're not allowed to use the lab again, Colin suggested other possible locations specifically one that has a white wall and is capacious. We ended up filming in the kitchen as it has that wall with a metal work area and sink. We've done the shots clearly and this time it wasn't rushed. We've decided to film the bit where he walks towards the L.C girl in another room as we need the right space for it and plus we wouldn't be able to fit the wheelchair in the kitchen. We need to arrange a time where our actor, actress and the rest of us are available so we can finish this scene completely.

5th December

Today, we took a second attempt at filming the outdoor scene- this time I remembered everything that was said. I tied up my hair, wore no earrings and we've managed to get another reliable actor to play our Dictator. We took our time getting a few shots.  We've managed to get a close up of my feet when I was stomping as well as running. An over the shoulder shot and mid shot of me running towards him then lastly a mid shot of our dictator talking to the biologist via chip device. Our dictator also wore suitable clothing throughout so it was much better this time. We've also managed to find a better location- I found that the car park near the train station was better due to the concrete walls as well as the sharp fences on top.
